Credibility

Marine-proven control systems for the world's most demanding vessels

The marine environment is unforgiving. Salt air corrodes, vessel motion stresses mechanical and electrical systems, and assets must operate for months between maintenance windows, often thousands of miles from the nearest qualified engineer. On an FPSO or LNG carrier, a control failure is not inconvenient: it is dangerous, expensive, and potentially catastrophic for cargo containment and personnel safety.

We have been designing and commissioning marine control systems for over 50 years. From FPSO power and compression systems in the North Sea to tanker cargo loading automation in the Arabian Gulf, from naval vessel machinery controls to offshore platform generator load sharing, our systems are engineered specifically for the marine environment, classified by the world’s leading classification societies, and supported around the clock from our global network of engineering offices.

Why marine & offshore operators choose us

Marine and offshore operators face a unique combination of technical demands, regulatory requirements, and operational constraints. Here is why we are the right controls partner for these environments.
IEC 61131-3 Programming Standard
A vessel operating in the North Sea today may be redeployed to the Gulf of Mexico or a West African field tomorrow. When an OEM’s technician is not available in that geography, operators need a system they, or any qualified engineer, can support. Our IEC 61131-3 programming standard means the full control logic, I/O configuration, and tuning parameters are accessible to the owner: no proprietary software dongles, no per-seat license fees, no OEM permission required to make a setpoint change at 2 AM in a storm.
Marine Data Gathering and Integration
On a vessel at sea, you cannot pull a pump bearing for inspection without a port call. Our diagnostic algorithms provide continuous vibration trend monitoring, inter-bearing temperature differential analysis, and performance curve tracking that provide fixed-setpoint condition data to your maintenance team, giving operators the information to schedule maintenance at the next convenient port call rather than responding to an emergency breakdown at sea. Our pump bearing temperature monitoring systems are engineered for marine pump applications where manual inspection access is limited.
Factory Acceptance Testing, Marine Scenario Ready
Our FAT provides full input/output simulation of the control system’s sequences, operating modes, alarms, and shutdowns. For marine applications the procedure covers sensor-signal handling under vessel motion, salt air exposure conditions, blackout and power restoration sequences, emergency stop scenarios, and cargo system emergencies. Your classification society surveyor and your own marine engineers review the responses before the system leaves our facility, with documented FAT protocols that become part of the classification record.
True Turnkey Scope
Marine project management is complex. We coordinate class society drawing submission and approval (DNV, Lloyd’s, ABS, Bureau Veritas), electrical area classification per IEC 60092 and IEC 60079, MARPOL compliance support for oily water and cargo management systems, and on-vessel commissioning and sea trial support, all from class drawings to commissioning offshore.
Global Classification Society Compliance
Our marine control systems are designed and documented for approval by all major classification societies, including DNV (Det Norske Veritas), Lloyd’s Register, American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), and Bureau Veritas. Our systems carry ATEX and IECEx certifications for installation in marine Zone 1 and Zone 2 hazardous areas, and we maintain current working knowledge of the IGC Code, SOLAS Chapter II-1 and II-2, and MARPOL Annex I, II, and VI requirements.
Redundancy by Design

Redundant controllers, dual power feeds, and defined safe-state behavior engineered to keep propulsion and ship’s power available through a single fault.

A MESSAGE FROM JOHN KAZOUR, CEO

Welcome to Innova Technologies

To our customers and partners,

For more than 50 years, our team has helped customers keep critical operations running. We built our reputation as Petrotech by taking responsibility for control systems on important rotating machinery.

As more industries came to us with similar challenges across power generation, compression, and hydro applications, our engineering team kept finding ways to solve them. Eventually, the business outgrew the Petrotech name.

We are entering our next chapter as Innova Technologies. The new name reflects the full scope of our work as a rotating machinery control systems specialist. We engineer controls around the machine, deliver complete projects from design through commissioning, and provide support that stays with the problem until it is solved.

Our name is changing, but the people, engineering experience, and commitment behind the work continue. Our responsibility to active projects and installed systems carries forward under the Innova Technologies name. Your current contacts remain the right place to start, and we will communicate directly if an administrative record requires an update.

We appreciate the trust you have placed in us over the decades, and we look forward to continuing that work as Innova Technologies.
