Fire and gas detection for compressor buildings, turbine enclosures, and rotating machinery facilities

Innova Technologies provides fire and gas detection systems for compressor buildings, turbine enclosures, and rotating machinery facilities, delivered stand-alone, or alongside a turbine controls upgrade. When we do both, the benefit comes from one team handling the design, fabrication, testing, installation, and commissioning, common parts, common engineering, and coordinated execution, not from forcing the F&G system onto the control platform. Many plants keep their fire & gas and ESD protection separate from the control system, and we support that.

Fire and gas detection protects people and equipment in facilities full of rotating machinery and hydrocarbons. Innova Technologies delivers these systems as a capable, dedicated scope: we work across these facilities every day, so we know what is required. The F&G system can stand on its own, or be delivered within the scope of a turbine controls upgrade, where coordination, common parts, common engineering, and a single execution team reduce risk and create real synergy across design, fabrication, testing, installation, and commissioning. We do not require the F&G or ESD system to share a platform with the machine control, that decision stays with the customer’s protection philosophy.

The Problem

Detection and protection done by a team that knows the facility

Fire and gas protection in a rotating-machinery facility is most reliable when it is engineered and executed by people who understand the facility, the machines, and how the work has to be installed and commissioned around them.

The advantage of having Innova deliver F&G alongside (or coordinated with) a controls project is not that the systems are merged: it is that the same team designs, builds, tests, installs, and commissions both, which reduces handoffs, errors, and schedule risk while keeping the protection function appropriately independent.

Stand-Alone or Coordinated Delivery

Delivered as an independent F&G scope, or coordinated with a turbine controls upgrade for common parts, common engineering, and a single execution team, synergy from coordinated delivery, not from merging systems.

Fire & Gas Detection System Design and Supply

Detection coverage, logic, panels, and field devices for compressor buildings, turbine enclosures, and process areas, engineered for the specific facility and the machines it protects.

Design, Fabrication, Testing, Installation, Commissioning

Full project execution by one team, with the synergy that brings, fewer handoffs, fewer errors, and less schedule risk from design through commissioning.

Appropriate Independence from Control Systems

F&G/ESD protection is kept separate from the machine control where the customer's protection philosophy requires it, the platform decision stays with the customer.

Why Innova Technologies

A team that works in rotating-machinery facilities every day

Fire and gas detection delivered by people who know what these facilities require, stand-alone, or coordinated with a controls upgrade.
Facility Knowledge That Shows in the Design
We work in rotating-machinery facilities every day and know what F&G detection requires, coverage, logic, panels, and field devices engineered for the machines and the space they occupy.
Stand-Alone or Coordinated With Controls
Delivered as an independent F&G scope, or coordinated with a controls upgrade for common parts, common engineering, and single-team execution, real synergy without merging the systems.
One Team, From Design to Commissioning
One team designs, builds, tests, installs, and commissions, fewer handoffs and less risk across the life of the project.
Protection Kept Independent
We keep F&G/ESD protection independent of the control system where your protection philosophy requires it, the platform decision stays with you.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do you integrate Fire & Gas with the control system?
Only if the customer wants it, many plants keep protection separate from the control system, and we support that. The platform decision stays with your protection philosophy.
Yes. The fire & gas system can be delivered as a capable, dedicated, independent scope.
One team, common parts, common engineering, and coordinated execution across design, fabrication, testing, installation, and commissioning, synergy from coordinated delivery, not system integration.

Protective functions that work alongside vibration monitoring

Vibration protection is one of several machinery protective functions that benefit from being engineered and maintained together. When Innova modernizes a machine’s controls, related protective measurements can be brought into the same platform, HMI, and historian, each kept appropriately independent of the primary control path where the protection philosophy requires it.

Detection

Flame detection integrated into fire & gas

Optical flame detection provides a rapid, supervised response to fire around fired and rotating equipment, engineered as part of the wider fire-and-gas system rather than a standalone device.

Optical flame detectors respond to the radiation signature of a flame, commonly in the infrared and ultraviolet bands, which allows them to detect a developing fire around turbines, compressors, and fuel systems faster than heat-based methods in many open or well-ventilated spaces. Innova Technologies specifies and integrates flame detection as part of the fire-and-gas detection scope, with detector placement engineered for the geometry of compressor buildings and turbine enclosures and for the equipment being protected. Detectors are supervised so that a fault, obscured lens, or loss of signal is annunciated rather than silently reducing coverage, and detection logic is coordinated with the facility’s alarm and shutdown philosophy. Detector technology and coverage are selected per installation, and the protection function is kept appropriately independent of the machine control where the customer’s protection philosophy requires it.

A MESSAGE FROM JOHN KAZOUR, CEO

Welcome to Innova Technologies

To our customers and partners,

For more than 50 years, our team has helped customers keep critical operations running. We built our reputation as Petrotech by taking responsibility for control systems on important rotating machinery.

As more industries came to us with similar challenges across power generation, compression, and hydro applications, our engineering team kept finding ways to solve them. Eventually, the business outgrew the Petrotech name.

We are entering our next chapter as Innova Technologies. The new name reflects the full scope of our work as a rotating machinery control systems specialist. We engineer controls around the machine, deliver complete projects from design through commissioning, and provide support that stays with the problem until it is solved.

Our name is changing, but the people, engineering experience, and commitment behind the work continue. Our responsibility to active projects and installed systems carries forward under the Innova Technologies name. Your current contacts remain the right place to start, and we will communicate directly if an administrative record requires an update.

We appreciate the trust you have placed in us over the decades, and we look forward to continuing that work as Innova Technologies.
