Control
Innova Technologies delivers conventional machinery vibration protection, fixed-setpoint alarm and trip off the vibration monitoring system, and brings it into your control system, your HMI, and your historian as part of a modern controls scope. The value isn’t a new way to predict failures; it’s having the VMS engineered, integrated, and maintained as one consistent system with the rest of your machine controls.
Vibration monitoring protects rotating machinery the way it has for decades: a vibration monitoring system (VMS) measures shaft and bearing vibration and trips the machine at defined setpoints. What changes the value is integration. When Innova modernizes a machine’s controls, we bring the VMS into the same scope, coordinating the interfaces, putting the VMS data into one system and one HMI alongside the rest of the machine, adding trending and historian integration, and providing diagnostics of the VMS hardware itself. The result is full visibility of machine condition in one place, on a system that is consistent, maintainable, and easier to operate.
The Problem
On many machines the VMS is a separate box with its own display, its own wiring, and its own data that rarely makes it into the control system or the historian. Operators look in two places, maintenance has to support yet another platform, and the VMS hardware’s own health is rarely watched.
The fix is integration: bring the VMS into the control-system scope so its alarms, trips, and data live in the same platform and the same HMI as the machine, with trending, historian integration, and diagnostics of the VMS hardware.
Capabilities
Bring the VMS's fixed-setpoint alarm and trip functions into the machine's protective logic and the control-system HMI, with first-out / annunciation as required.
Where needed, we provide the probes, keyphasors, accelerometers, velometers, cables, the VMS system, and the communications to the VMS. We supply and integrate this equipment; we are not its manufacturer.
Present vibration, shaft position, and bearing data alongside the rest of the machine in a single HMI, with trending and historian integration.
If API 670 compliance is required, we know what it takes, which may mean adding hardware, selecting a specific VMS platform, and implementing a particular configuration. We engineer to meet the requirement without claiming to develop the instrument or VMS technology.
Monitor the health of the VMS hardware itself, probes, transducers, cabling, communications, and surface faults to operators.
Select both the instrumentation and the VMS platform on the merits of the application. We work across VMS platforms, including the Allen-Bradley Dynamix 1444, a supported platform for integrating conventional machinery protection into the controls, and recognize that some platforms integrate more closely with the PLC than others.

FAQ
Exhaust temperature and its distribution around the turbine are a practical indicator of combustion health, so multi-thermocouple exhaust monitoring is a common part of the protective scope. Innova Technologies integrates arrays of exhaust thermocouples to measure both average exhaust temperature and the spread between individual sensors, which can reveal a burner or fuel-nozzle problem before it becomes damaging. Alarm and protective action can be configured on excessive spread as well as on high average temperature, with individual thermocouple failures detected and annunciated. Presenting this data in the same HMI and historian as the vibration and speed functions gives operators a single, consistent view of machine condition.
Independent control for every turbine class.

A MESSAGE FROM JOHN KAZOUR, CEO
To our customers and partners,
For more than 50 years, our team has helped customers keep critical operations running. We built our reputation as Petrotech by taking responsibility for control systems on important rotating machinery.
As more industries came to us with similar challenges across power generation, compression, and hydro applications, our engineering team kept finding ways to solve them. Eventually, the business outgrew the Petrotech name.
We are entering our next chapter as Innova Technologies. The new name reflects the full scope of our work as a rotating machinery control systems specialist. We engineer controls around the machine, deliver complete projects from design through commissioning, and provide support that stays with the problem until it is solved.
Our name is changing, but the people, engineering experience, and commitment behind the work continue. Our responsibility to active projects and installed systems carries forward under the Innova Technologies name. Your current contacts remain the right place to start, and we will communicate directly if an administrative record requires an update.
We appreciate the trust you have placed in us over the decades, and we look forward to continuing that work as Innova Technologies.
CEO, Innova Technologies
