Credibility
Pipeline transmission is a throughput business. Every hour of compressor station downtime is product not delivered, contract obligations not met, and revenue not earned.
For over 50 years we have engineered control systems for gas and oil pipeline operators, from single-unit compressor station upgrades to multi-unit station automation projects spanning hundreds of miles of pipeline infrastructure. Our midstream control systems are engineered with the full picture in mind: driver performance optimization, anti-surge protection, and station-level SCADA integration. Where a project calls for it, we design and document our control systems to align with the customer’s DOT and PHMSA obligations and provide the control-system documentation owners need, but the operator owns overall regulatory compliance; we do not ensure compliance or produce the compliance documentation itself. We deliver measurable gains in throughput, fuel efficiency, and reliability, measured not against theoretical baselines, but against the actual performance of the equipment we are replacing.
Applications
Comprehensive station automation covering all phases of operation: driver start/stop sequencing, anti-surge protection, capacity control, load sharing across multiple units, and station-level logic for safe operation during all normal and upset conditions. Our station controllers integrate seamlessly with pipeline SCADA systems via industry-standard protocols.
High-speed surge protection with adaptive control line algorithms that account for variable inlet conditions, gas composition changes, and compressor wear effects. Our anti-surge controllers respond in milliseconds to protect centrifugal compressors from surge, the most destructive failure mode in pipeline compression service.
Data integration with cathodic protection systems and pipeline integrity management databases, providing compressor station controllers with real-time CP status and enabling coordinated shutdown logic for pipeline integrity events.
Turbine speed governing, fuel control system design, and full protective sequencing for gas turbine-driven centrifugal compressors in pipeline service.
Optimal dispatch of multiple compressor units across a station to minimize fuel consumption while meeting pipeline throughput targets, with automatic unit selection, load equalization, and smooth unit start/stop management that avoids pressure transients in the pipeline.
ESD logic implementation, automated blowdown sequence execution, and safe station isolation for emergency conditions, configured to the operator's emergency response plan and blowdown philosophy. The operator (typically at plant design) defines how and when to blow down and the applicable PHMSA requirements; we implement and document the control logic that follows their direction.
Speed governing, suction and discharge pressure control, and valve unloader coordination for reciprocating compressor stations powered by natural gas engines or electric motors, with rod load monitoring and cylinder pressure data gathered and integrated into the operator's SCADA/historian for condition monitoring by the operator's maintenance team.
Seamless integration with pipeline SCADA systems supporting MODBUS RTU, MODBUS TCP, OPC-UA, DNP3, and ICCP protocols. We provide complete SCADA point lists, data dictionary documentation, and cybersecurity-aware network architecture to meet pipeline operator control center requirements.
Variable frequency drive (VFD) interface and load management for electrically-driven pipeline compressors, including soft-start sequencing, speed reference optimization, power factor correction interface, and motor protection relay coordination.
Automated pig launcher and receiver sequencing with pressure management, isolation valve coordination, and pig tracking signal integration, reducing the manual steps and potential for human error in pig handling operations at compressor stations.
Start/stop sequencing, speed governing, fuel control, and protective shutdown for compression and power-generation drivers.

A MESSAGE FROM JOHN KAZOUR, CEO
To our customers and partners,
For more than 50 years, our team has helped customers keep critical operations running. We built our reputation as Petrotech by taking responsibility for control systems on important rotating machinery.
As more industries came to us with similar challenges across power generation, compression, and hydro applications, our engineering team kept finding ways to solve them. Eventually, the business outgrew the Petrotech name.
We are entering our next chapter as Innova Technologies. The new name reflects the full scope of our work as a rotating machinery control systems specialist. We engineer controls around the machine, deliver complete projects from design through commissioning, and provide support that stays with the problem until it is solved.
Our name is changing, but the people, engineering experience, and commitment behind the work continue. Our responsibility to active projects and installed systems carries forward under the Innova Technologies name. Your current contacts remain the right place to start, and we will communicate directly if an administrative record requires an update.
We appreciate the trust you have placed in us over the decades, and we look forward to continuing that work as Innova Technologies.
CEO, Innova Technologies
