A hazardous-area (Zone 2) control package for critical firewater protection, engineered for reliability, maintainability, and quality-assured delivery.

Firewater Pump Control for Places You Cannot Come Back To

Innova Technologies designs and manufactures firewater pump control and protection systems for offshore, industrial, and hazardous-area applications. Our solutions combine automation, operator interface, protection, power distribution, and field marshalling into reliable, maintainable control packages that are factory-tested before deployment.
Engineering Approach

Engineered as a Complete Firewater Control System

Innova Technologies approaches firewater pump control as an integrated system, not a collection of individual components. Innova engineers automation, operator interfaces, protection, power distribution, field marshalling, and facility interfaces together within a coordinated control package.

Physical segregation between power, control, and termination sections supports safer maintenance and reduces unnecessary interaction between system functions. Structured panel layouts, clear labeling, accessible components, and documented interfaces make commissioning, testing, and future troubleshooting more straightforward.

For offshore and other critical applications, Innova completes engineering documentation, inspection, and functional testing before shipment. Control sequences, interfaces, alarms, and protection functions can therefore be verified before the equipment reaches site.

The result is a maintainable, documented system designed to integrate cleanly into the wider facility architecture and remain supportable throughout its operating life.

02 — The Situation

Offshore, the firewater package has to be right before it leaves the shop.

Firewater systems are critical safety assets. The control package had to support dependable pump operation, local operator visibility, alarm handling and protective functions in a demanding offshore environment.

On an FPSO there is no convenient way to correct a panel that was not built properly. What ships is what runs.

03 — The Challenge

Hazardous area, functional safety and offshore maintenance, all inside one enclosure.

The customer required a packaged cabinet solution suitable for hazardous-area service, supported by engineering drawings, documentation, inspection and functional testing before shipment. Three separate sets of requirements had to be satisfied in a single enclosure without any one of them compromising the others.

04 — The Solution

One cabinet, three segregated zones, built for the people who maintain it.

Innova designed and manufactured a custom control and protection assembly with segregated power, control and field termination areas. The automation platform was based on Siemens equipment, with safety and standard I/O, operator interface, industrial communications and structured marshaling integrated into a maintainable enclosure.

The build approach focused on the practical details that matter during installation and operation: clear labeling, accessible protection devices, organized wiring routes, defined field interfaces and a documented test package.

A MESSAGE FROM JOHN KAZOUR, CEO

Welcome to Innova Technologies

To our customers and partners,

For more than 50 years, our team has helped customers keep critical operations running. We built our reputation as Petrotech by taking responsibility for control systems on important rotating machinery.

As more industries came to us with similar challenges across power generation, compression, and hydro applications, our engineering team kept finding ways to solve them. Eventually, the business outgrew the Petrotech name.

We are entering our next chapter as Innova Technologies. The new name reflects the full scope of our work as a rotating machinery control systems specialist. We engineer controls around the machine, deliver complete projects from design through commissioning, and provide support that stays with the problem until it is solved.

Our name is changing, but the people, engineering experience, and commitment behind the work continue. Our responsibility to active projects and installed systems carries forward under the Innova Technologies name. Your current contacts remain the right place to start, and we will communicate directly if an administrative record requires an update.

We appreciate the trust you have placed in us over the decades, and we look forward to continuing that work as Innova Technologies.
